There’s so much to love about the DeKalb History Center! This beautiful, historic space serves as a stunning backdrop for your ceremony. Afterward, it’s transformed into a spacious and elegant setting for your reception, perfect for dining and dancing.
The Harrison Room
Ideal for buffet-style dining or larger setups, this room combines both functionality and beauty.
The Lobby
With marble floors, ornate plasterwork, high ceilings, and warm wood accents, the Lobby provides a welcoming and elegant atmosphere, often used for cocktail hour.
Your wedding guests will transition seamlessly from the ceremony in the Courtroom to cocktail hour in the Lobby, where they can enjoy drinks and appetizers. Afterward, the Courtroom is flipped for the reception, offering a beautiful and versatile space for your celebration.
Weekend rentals include exclusive access to all three spaces, giving you plenty of flexibility to design your perfect event.

The DeKalb History Center is a photographer’s dream! I love capturing the beautiful marble arches and the granite exterior. They give every shot a refined, sophisticated feel.
The columns out front are another favorite of mine. They add a bold, striking element to the shots.
Plus, since we’re right in the heart of downtown Decatur, we’re just steps away from more unique spots that make for the perfect backdrop.
DeKalb History Center Wedding Cost
Saturday rentals start at $4,300. There are additional fees for a damage deposit, police presence if alcohol is served, and a holiday surcharge for events on holidays. Optional upgrades include additional event time, gold Chiavari chairs, and off-list catering fees.
