Classic Black & White Wedding at Daisy Hill Wedding Venue
I keep coming back to Savanna and Ryan’s classic black and white celebration at Daisy Hill Wedding Venue. Their early November wedding day was perfect in every way, and I’m excited to share why this venue continues to be one of my favorites as an Atlanta wedding photographer.
Savanna and Ryan met at their workplace in February 2021, where Ryan was already working when Savanna joined the team. What started as a quick friendship turned into something more. It ultimately led to a beautiful May proposal in Piedmont Park in 2023. After she said yes, Ryan surprised her with a celebratory dinner with family. These two share a love of exploring new restaurants and coffee shops on weekends, and anyone who knows them will tell you they’re true foodies at heart.
Leading up to their big day at Daisy Hill Wedding Venue, they were most looking forward to soaking in the day with each other. They made a goal to not leave each other’s side throughout the evening and told me, “We’ve been waiting for this day and can’t wait to spend it together!”
The cornerstone of their design was a beautifully crafted wedding monogram. I loved seeing how thoughtfully they incorporated it throughout their day. From their invitation suite to their wedding album, signage, and even the cocktail napkins, they found all of the perfect places to include it.
Savanna chose a stunning strapless A-line gown with a sweeping train. She complimented it beautifully with a half-up hairstyle and a pearl-accented veil. Her bridesmaids wore elegant black one-shoulder gowns that really captured the day’s classic feel. Ryan looked timeless in his black tuxedo with a white shirt, while his groomsmen brought sophistication in all-black.
Savanna and Ryan’s first look was one of those moments that I live for as a photographer. The genuine joy on their faces was contagious. They both had ear-to-ear grins that lasted the entire day.
Savanna’s niece was precious and took her flower girl duties seriously. She stood proudly with the bridesmaids during the ceremony, and it was so cute to watch. And even after their emotional first look, Ryan still teared up watching Savanna walk down the aisle with her dad. It was very sweet!
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed an outdoor cocktail hour. While outside, guests found their seat assignments on individual bud vases, which they then carried to their tables as part of the decor. It was such a beautiful way to incorporate their guests into the wedding decor and design!
After the cocktail hour, guests moved indoors for the reception. They were welcomed with glasses of champagne and individual charcuterie cups which I thought were a fun, elevated twist on traditional reception appetizers.
Savanna and Ryan headed out on the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife. Soon after, the dance floor was filled with their loved ones celebrating alongside them. The energy remained high throughout the evening, with guests barely leaving the dance floor between songs.
The couple chose to skip the wedding cake and instead offered a donut bar and ice cream sundae station. These were the perfect touches for their celebration! Guests moved between the dance floor and dessert stations, creating their own sweet treats before returning to the fun.
There’s a reason I get excited every time I book a Daisy Hill wedding. Located just twenty miles from Atlanta, this seventeen-acre property has everything you could want in a venue. I’ve shot many weddings here, and it never disappoints.
The outdoor ceremony space is surrounded by gorgeous pine trees, and the patio makes for a wonderful cocktail hour venue. Inside, there are amazing tall ceilings, huge windows, and exposed beams that make for beautiful photos. Plus, Daisy Hill Wedding Venue offers many things like tables and chairs and on-site day-of staff, which makes planning so much smoother.
Here’s an insider tip: the Cottage is a game-changer for getting ready. It has beautiful blue velvet couches, a kitchen if you need it, and both a sunroom and screened porch for a few calm moments before the ceremony.
If you’re planning your wedding at Daisy Hill, I’d love to connect. After photographing many celebrations here, I know the property well. My style combines film and digital photography to document your day authentically. Get in touch today to schedule a consultation!
