Stunning Caledonia Wedding | Chelsea & Josh
Chelsea and Josh’s Caledonia wedding was such a beautiful celebration! It was full of thoughtful details and took place at the dreamiest Lowcountry wedding venue. Their day was everything they’d hoped for and more. From their first look to dancing the night away under the beautiful tent, it was a joy to capture!
Chelsea and Josh’s story began on Hinge. They quickly connected over their shared love for travel, lazy days with their pups, and spending time outdoors. Chelsea shared that as they got to know each other, it didn’t take long to realize how well they balanced each other out. She described how they’re always encouraging one another to grow while still keeping things light and never taking life too seriously.
Josh proposed during a beach walk on Pawleys Island, a place that already held a special place in Chelsea’s heart. She grew up visiting her grandparents there and even learned to ride her bike there. Getting engaged in a spot that held so many memories made the moment even more meaningful.
Naturally, returning to Pawleys to tie the knot felt like the perfect full-circle moment for them.
Before the ceremony, Chelsea and Josh shared a quiet first look surrounded by beautiful flowering bushes. You could see the nerves melt away as soon as they saw each other. That moment set the tone for a relaxed, joy-filled day.
They said their vows beneath towering live oaks draped in Spanish moss, with 140 of their closest friends and family looking on. The 200-year-old trees felt timeless and made for a breathtaking backdrop.
One especially heartfelt ceremony detail was a reserved seat for Josh’s best man, Trex Bolick, who had passed away the summer before. It was a beautiful way to honor someone who meant so much.
Cocktail hour kicked off on the lawn with passed hors d’oeuvres and picture-perfect weather. The color palette of mint green, soft blue, and white carried seamlessly into the reception tent.
Inside the tent, a mix of round and long tables gave the space a cozy feel. Lounge seating created areas for guests to relax, and the custom half-circle bar was such a nice focal point. One of my favorite details was that Chelsea incorporated vases that had belonged to her late grandmother throughout the reception decor. It was a sentimental touch that I haven’t seen done many times!
As the sun set, string lights and greenery overhead gave the tent a warm glow. Chelsea and Josh shared their first dance on the checkered floor beneath it all. It was such a sweet moment to witness!
Later in the night, Chelsea and Josh brought out custom hats, and the dance floor energy picked up even more. Guests kept dancing right up until the final song, and then the couple made their getaway through a fun pom pom exit and rode off in a golf cart.
